Concerns about workplace safety voiced by OSHA

The state of California has an incredibly large workforce that spans virtually every type of industry and level of position. From the high-tech mecca of Silicon Valley to the nation’s agriculture heart in the central valley and more, workers face different dangers every day. When an on-the-job accident occurs in any business sector, the available forms of compensation may or may not be sufficient to provide for everything a victim needs.

Jobsite accidents can cause injuries that may be minor or result in serious life-long disabilities for workers. California law governing workplace safety provides clear direction to employers to provide adequate procedures and training to prevent construction injuries or other on-the-job accidents. The construction sector is among one of the more dangerous with its use of heavy machinery and heights.

California employees in the industrial or construction sectors are at serious risk for life-altering injuries every single day that they walk onto job sites. Sometimes, workplace injuries can be relatively minor and injured workers can resume their full job functions in little time. When that does not happen, however, it may be disability benefits that should be sought for some help with providing an ongoing level of income.

Construction workers face serious dangers on the job every single day. California state laws and national laws do stipulate guidelines for safe working environments but those are not sufficient to prevent all problems. When a workplace accident happens and a construction worker is injured, the resulting situation can be severe. Some problems result in lifelong injuries or even death.

California employees in any industry deserve the right to know that their work environments are safe and that they will be protected in the event of workplace accidents. When an on-the-job accident happens, determining the cause is one of the steps to determining the appropriate level of compensation. For some people, workers’ compensation is sufficient but for other cases, more assistance is required.
