Representing Injured Workers Since 1955

Worker critically hurt after being crushed in elevator shaft

When a person in Los Angeles is hurt on the job he or she may have many questions and concerns about the upcoming future, including whether or not he or she will be able to continue earning their normal income. No matter what kind of accident or injury you suffer, if you have been hurt on the job, you should be eligible for workers’ compensation.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating an accident involving a construction worker who was crushed while working in an elevator shaft at a job site. The man, who is reportedly in his 30s, was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition. Medical workers described the injury as a “crush injury” and they said the man’s head was pinned against the elevator and the concrete shaft.

According to reports, the man had critical injuries, which were described as secondary to his crush injury. The accident occurred when the elevator was activated, however it was not reported why or how the elevator got activated. The investigation into the incident could reportedly take as long as sixth months to complete.

Hopefully this man will be able to survive his injuries and live a normal life again. However, if he should be unable to continue working due to his injuries, pain and suffering, then he should be able to receive worker’s compensation for his injuries as long as needed. Likewise, if you have been hurt in a construction accident or any other type of work-related accident, then you might want to meet with an experienced workers’ compensation attorney as soon s you can.
