Representing Injured Workers Since 1955

Three employees injured by 2000 pounds of falling debris

The construction industry is known to have a high rate of danger and accident risk associated with it. By its very nature, California construction workers are often in precarious situations, at extreme heights or manipulating heavy items or machinery. A single construction accident can result in serious injury or even death. Common accidents involve defective tools, crushes or falls. Injured workers can be in need of workers’ compensation or other help in the wake of their injuries. Sometimes the reason for an accident is easy to identify and other times investigations are more complex.

City inspectors in Boca Raton, FL have yet to determine the cause of a recent construction site accident that injured three employees. The men were working together under an area where other workers were pouring concrete into a tie beam. In that process, the entire bar collapsed and fell onto the three construction workers below. A ton of material that included wood, concrete and steel hit them. Fortunately, their nearby co-workers were able to free them from the debris and avoid them from being trapped for a long period.

The nature of the injuries that were sustained is not known. One man was known to have been seriously injured but further details and the identity of the worker was not released. Whether or not the accident was preventable or related to any form of negligence or unsafe practice is also not known at this time.

Employees at construction sites can always get help from an attorney if an accident happens. From assistance filing a workers’ compensation claim to securing other compensation if appropriate, the right attorney may be able to help injured workers stay protected.
