Representing Injured Workers Since 1955

Judge declines to rule on former deputy’s workers’ comp case

Although safety is almost always a top priority for any business, accidents still happen. Unfortunately, although employers and insurance companies should comply with all workers' compensation laws, not all of them want to do so. In fact, sometimes they even try to skirt their responsibilities and skimp on an injured employee’s compensation. However, if you have been hurt on the job in the Los Angeles area then you have a right to worker’s compensation.

A former sheriff deputy who was hurt in a heliport crash that killed two other deputies is seeking to continue to receive workers’ compensation payments from Sacramento County for the injuries he suffered in that crash. However, a federal judge recently ruled that he did not have the authority to decide the case.
