Representing Injured Workers Since 1955

Construction crewmember is injured after being struck by car

Although any construction site can be a dangerous place to work, road construction sites can be especially treacherous for workers. If someone in Los Angeles has been hurt on the job at any type of construction site, he or she should be eligible for workers’ compensation.

A construction worker who was helping control traffic at a work site was struck by a vehicle and injured, recently. The man was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. However, he was still in the intensive care unit at the time of this report. He was hurt when an 84-year-old man reportedly drove through some traffic cones and ran into him.

It is not know at this time why the elderly driver went through the cones and authorities are still investigating the incident. Reportedly they do not believe alcohol was a factor. It is not known at this time how severe the man’s injuries are or how long it will take him to recover. Likewise, it has not been reported when, or if, he will be able to return to work. According to reports he is married and has four children.

Hopefully, this man will not suffer from long-term injuries or the pain and suffering that can come with serious injuries. However, he should be able to receive fair and sufficient workers' compensation for his injuries as well as for the work time he will miss because of those injuries. He and his family might also want to speak with an experienced workers’ compensation attorney to make sure they receive everything that they are entitled to receive.
