Representing Injured Workers Since 1955

Worker falls from scaffolding at Steven Tyler's LA home

It's well known that construction work is some of the most dangerous work in the world, and construction workers should be greatly admired for the jobs that they do. Our society would be vastly different and vastly worse if employees in the construction industry didn't risk life and limb to make life better for the rest of us.

But despite the inherent dangers associated with most construction projects in Los Angeles, workers should still be afforded the knowledge that they can do their jobs in a reasonably safe work environment. In any case, workers' compensation may be available to employees who have been injured on the job.

These matters are likely on the mind of a Los Angeles construction worker who suffered serious injuries recently while working on a house owned by rocker Steven Tyler.

Unfortunately, an accident all-too-common on construction sites led to the 30-year-old man's injuries. He fell 15 feet from scaffolding and had to be transported by helicopter to a local hospital.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on the scene, where they had to remove the injured man from a construction area set up on a hillside.

Aerosmith star Steven Tyler wasn't at the residence when the fall happened. He was reportedly out of the country at the time.

A news report doesn't indicate exactly who the injured worker's employer is, but a workers' compensation claim is undoubtedly on the horizon.

Scaffolding falls are some of the most common and most injurious accidents that happen on construction sites. Other construction workers in the Los Angeles area need to be aware of their legal options for obtaining the compensation needed to cover the costs of a work-related injury.
